Hilton Head Regional Habitat for Humanity is pleased to welcome Tom O’Neil to our construction team and to congratulate Ayaks Castellanos on a promotion. Both men will serve as construction foremen.
Tom comes to Habitat with a wealth of experience in all phases of residential building, including project management, framing, truss design and construction. He has completed numerous OSHA safety courses and attained various certifications. He is a hands-on, get-it-done person who also enjoys sharing his skill sets and teaching others. “Tom has a proven track record in building quality homes,” said David Knepshield, construction manager, “and will be a great asset for Habitat, our volunteers and the families we serve.”
Ayaks came to work with Habitat in August 2017 as a construction assistant. He led volunteers working on Phase One at The Glen and has recently been supervising repair projects. Earlier this year, he completed an OSHA Competent Person safety training. According to Knepshield, “Ayaks has been a dedicated, hard-working employee who is always willing to take on additional responsibilities and learn new things. He really understands Habitat’s mission, and we’re pleased to be able to move him into this new role.”
