HOMES PLANNED:
Jasper County -
Hilton Head Regional Habitat for Humanity has been the recipient of a donation of approximately 165 acres of land near Hardeeville. We are thankful to be able to continue our mission to eradicate substandard housing in the Hilton Head Region. We estimate about 200 simple, decent houses can be built on this site. Of course, we must first fund the design and construction of the storm water system, roads, water and sewer lines to the serve the anticipated houses, but we have now have the basis for our largest community to date! Watch for upcoming communications as to how we all might help in undertaking the development of this large community.
HOMES
UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
Promise Way Ridgeland, SC - We are presently under construction of the homes at Promise Way which when completed will consist of ten new Habitat homes.
HOMES
COMPLETED:
New
Ridge Ridgeland, SC - Last fall, we began building four
houses in a small community in Ridgeland, SC. This land
was generously donated by Bees Creek Plantation developers
Jennifer and Tony Kunich. Four homes will help four
local families needing a simple, decent place to live,
but there are many other families that need the same
hand up. Hilton Head Regional Habitat for Humanity stands
ready to take the lead in providing affordable housing
in both Southern Beaufort and Jasper Counties, but to
do so, we must have land on which to build.
Brendan
Woods Community - Through a very generous donation
by a local real estate developer, Brendan Woods, a Habitat
community in Bluffton, has grown into a thriving neighborhood
that is home to 61 families.Construction in Brendan Woods has been completed.
To
date, Habitat has dedicated 75 homes, consisting of
61 homes in the Brendan Woods Community, 12 homes in
New Hope Village and 3 more homes on single home property
sites.

feet with 3 bedrooms, a living and dining room, a kitchen,
a bathroom and a family room replaces an older trailer.

Women
Build: - Women building homes
and hope for people in need!
Come and join a wonderful and capable group of women who will start construction on the fourth Habitat house built totally by women on February 9th. The house is funded by the Palmetto Bluff Women and will be completed and dedicated for a single father and his son on Father's Day. Women
Build is a Habitat for Humanity International
program that encourages women to have fun and
make a difference by building homes and communities.
Nearly 1,000 Habitat houses have been built by
women crews around the world. |
| Each
year 150 or more homes are added as affiliates,
donors and sponsors discover the impact of women
volunteers and their resources, and provides women
the opportunity to participate in a women-led initiative
to: |
|
Address
the affordable housing crisis in Beaufort
and Jasper Counties and show that women from
all back grounds can join together and actively
work to solve this problem. |
